Medical Treatment In Great Britain

In the case of an accident or illness all riders will be entitled to free emergency medical treatment either at the scene of the accident or in the Accident and Emergency Department of an National Health Service (NHS) Hospital or both as required. Further treatment will need to be paid for and riders need to ensure that they have the means to do so if they are unfortunate enough to be involved in an accident.

Nationals of Non-European Union Countries

Nationals of Non-European Union countries must ensure that they have adequate comprehensive travel insurance to cover all eventualities.

Please be aware that not all travel insurance providers will cover you for an event such as London - Edinburgh - London. Some insurance providers classify such events as a race. Please check carefully to the extent of getting a written assurance from the insurance company..

Nationals of European Union Countries

Nationals of European Union countries should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which entitles you to free medical treatment while in Britain.

All riders should also ensure that they have adequate travel insurance to cover non-medical situations.
