Rider Support
Support Vehicles
LEL does not allow for support vehicles between controls except under exceptional circumstances. Riders are expected to be self sufficient between Controls. If you have a support vehicle, these can only offer help at Controls. We do not permit vehicles to follow riders for obvious reasons. If a rider receives support between controls, their Brevet Card will be removed (unless this help is given by nominated LEL personnel). If you have a valid reason for having support between controls then please make us aware of this on the entry form or as soon as you are aware of this requirement.
Bag Drops
We are offering riders a bag drop at a predefined controls. You have one free bag drop. You will be provided with a bag for your items – only officially tagged LEL bags will be accepted on the bag drop. All bags will be returned to the start control at the end of the event. Bag drops will take sleeping mats and blankets but not cots/camp beds. Extra bag drops may be booked at a cost of £5/€7.5/$9 per bag drop. Please see entry form.Volunteers
As you can probably imagine, an event of this magnitude involves the hard work and dedication of many volunteers. If you have relatives and or friends who would like to volunteer to help at controls, please contact the organiser. You do not need to speak English to help, in fact, we welcome people who speak languages other than English to assist with communication difficulties that often arise. There are plenty of different jobs to do to look after the riders at the controls and we can assure you that despite being tired when the event is over you will go home with memories to last a lifetime. Volunteers who can bake scrumptious cakes and or can massage tired and aching limbs will be welcomed with open arms.
Accommodation at the start before the event can be booked for supporters/friends/volunteers, although priority will be given to riders. See entry form for the cost of accommodation. Food will not be available at controls for volunteers.
